Object effects and Followers

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 2:17 pm

I noticed that Apparel object effects don't seem to work on followers.

I.e. I gave Veronica a suit of Power Armor. She should get a +1 strength, but when I do getAV on her, she doesn't show a different strength value compared to what she had before I gave the suit to her.

Is this a bug? Or working as intended?

I gave Butch the Hat of the People and his Small Guns skill gained the +5 boost, so the effects appear to work correctly in FO3.

Crap in a hat! I posted this in the wrong forum. But thanks for the response.

Would a mod please move the thread to the GECK (New Vegas) forum? My question pertains to New Vegas, rather than FO3. Sorry.

Sometimes it doesn't register till you load into another cell.

Object effects are broken on followers anyway. Object effects 'stack' (re-apply themselves) whenever you trade equipment with them. So you will start out with a +1, then +2, then +3, etc strength.

Also - is it an un-modded vanilla armor? Mods could be adding a condition on the object effects so they don't affect Teammates. FOOK had some armor like that in FO3, I think. The bug was alive then too.
