Help Installing

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 2:35 am

Sorry I have to ask but I didn't find a readme.txt with the mod or any help at Nexus. This mod has a lot more files when you extract it and I'm wondering if I have to put all of them into my data file. Also, there is the version 1.2 and a 1.2 update each of them has a file with the same name so I'm wondering how the update file is supposed to work.

Any help is appreciated.

mesh sound texture and newVegasBounties esp go into your data folder. Anything else is simply fluff. As for which bounty esp to use, use the newest one. It has the same name because its meant to replace the old.

so if it's not an .esp don't put it in the file. got it and thank you.

I think i did it right but i didn't see a sound .esp file. I will look again.

To clarify, the mesh sound and textures folders you received with the mod go into the data folder. In addition the NewVegasBounties esp goes into the data folder.

Sounds dont come as an esp file(never seen it at any rate). Anyhow sorry for any confusion.

Load loose files is kind of tricky. I myself don't use it. From what I understand its for when a modder doesn't properly path his/her textures correctly. The game then hunts down any "loose" files and puts them into the game.

I'd recommend keeping it off unless a mod tells you to turn it on. If you encounter any odd pink graphics, and have tried turning off and back on archive invalidation invalidated, then try load loose files. Also, if you use fomm it has its own invalidation(which is all you need for that), under tools. Make sure its clicked. Just figured I'd preemptively strike on the invalidation issue, since it tends to spring up early for new mod users :)
