So I'm doing Render Unto Caesar, and in order to reach Cottonwood I came from up top and jumped down carefully along the cliffside on the rocks. Veronica wasn't behind me and I didn't think much of it. I figured she'd catch up or she'd spawn up right next to me if I quick traveled somewhere.

She didn't show up after the quick travel. Now when I try to meet with Caesar, I can't because I have to put my companions on wait and apparently Veronica is chasing me somewhere out there in the Mojave Wasteland, and I have no idea where.

Is there a way to track your companions or force them to respawn on you in-game? If not, could there be a patch that allows both? Also sometimes when I dismiss someone and want to pick them up again, I don't want to wait till they reach their designated homes again. It'd be nice to be able to see where they're going and catch them on the road.

1) First thing you'll need to fix this problem is to get a hold of your companions "reference ID" number. This can be found several ways. Easiest is to look it up on the wiki page. At the time this was written, there still isn't a whole lot of information on FNV Wiki yet, so you might have to use a different method. Load back another save, find your companion, and and open up the console. This can be done by pressing the ` or ~ key on your keyboard. Next, click on the companion. At the top it should say:
"[Character name]" (xxxxxxxx)
Copy that number down.

2) Open the console in your current save file. Type in:

prid xxxxxxxx (The reference number of your companion)

At the top of the screen it should come up with the name of your companion, and then their ID number.

Then, type in:

moveto player

Some text should appear, saying "[companion] picked package guard ()"

3) Exit the console, and your loving friend should be standing/floating/haunching/drooling nearby!

An example, say Rex went missing. I would get his ID number, which is 0010d8df, open up my console, type in
prid 0010d8df
moveto player

This happened to me as well. I lost her after coming out of the gun store in Freeside. Never bothered going back to see if she was still in there though .

I'm missing both veronica AND ED-E, and I haven't been able to get the console to open. I type the ~ key, but nothing happens, and I'm still able to move so I know the window hasn't opened up without my being able to see it. Is there something I'm missing?

thats pretty effed up if u cant even get into the cheat console....my followers keep disappearing on too but damn if u cant even get into the cheat console you might as well start over lol
