Import from Fallout 3

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:08 am

So with the mod that I am making, buildings, sings, and many other models are needed for the process. What I am stuck on is how to import a specific building or a group of buildings or whatever from F3, into the NV geck. If anyone has any help like an information page it would be greatly accepted.

If the stuff you need isn't in the New Vegas files, you aren't really permitted to import them from Fallout 3.

Bethesda does not allow assets to be transferred from one game into another, reguardless of whether they are both games with their name on or not.

You should look into the fnv files using geck. Many, many of the objects from FO3 are "left over" in there even if nothing in FNV uses them. So if you have particular objects in mind, check if they are left over first.

Miax made an excel sheet with comparisons between Fallout 3 assets and Fallout New Vegas assets http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34774. Might be helpful for you.
