[NOTE TO ALL] Patch is up, FalloutNV.esm load order altered

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 7:27 am

Just loaded up FNVEdit to look at changes that the patch made, and I got an error about load orders. I checked with FOMM and sure enough, FalloutNV.esm is no longer in load index 00. One drag'n'drop later, and it was again.

So everyone, remember to correct this. :)

Isn't that the way that most (all?) major updates were for FO3 too?

...at least I seem to recall having to do that at least once or twice...

Thank you. Downloading now. Looks like some of the mods have to be deactivated.

Well, I imagine a lot of new people may go "WTH" and them come here asking what's up.

And it's been almost a year and a half since we've had to deal with patch updates, so people may forget, and may not be intuitive enough to determine that the base-level ESM needs reordering.

More importantly has anyone opened up this patch to see what undocumented changes have been made? Is the community patch needed still? Does it cause bad things to happen(Dog catching on fire, etc)?

Ugh, the update killed NVSE for me. Guess I will have to wait for NVSE to update.

See http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1149135-resource-difference-plugin/ in the GECK forum.

That is not a list of differences, it is an .esp that contains all the changed items. It can be examined to see what items have been changed. An expert GECK/FNVEdit user could determine if any of those changes affected a particular Mod by comparison with an existing Mod.

I suppose a list of the important or relevant changes could be made from that resource. I'm not volunteering.

That is nothing unusual, did happen with patch 2 and 3 to...and is always happening when files like the .esm is updated from the patch.
