ok i have an asus g73 laptop

its an i7 quad core
with 8gb of ram
and ati hd 5870M

im getting constant hard lockups with either a white screen or black screen with yellow vertical lines. i also get random desktop crashes with a messsage saying driver failed.

mostly hard lockups. i have a cooler on my system under it and doesnt seem to be overheating. i get no artifacts in game just hard crashes
scared to continue playing i dont want to mess up the system. do i lower the resolution maybe?no clue how to fix it


im using the .dll fix and also the latest catalyst 10.10 drivers

please help

I am getting the random desktop crashes, and from the forums it seems thats typical with game at this point. The hard lockups are a cause for greater concern....

its a brand new laptop this is the first game i got with it.. what do i do then? worried about hard lockups constantly

My experience of Fallout 3 over the last two years is that the engine just isn't stable.

I get the best results when I leave the settings at the 'HIGH' defaults. My system can play it fluidly at maximum settings but at those settings I get regular CTDs after roughly an hour of playing whereas with the High defaults I can play for a couple of hours straight. I still do frequent saves just to be on the safe side.

As a game Im enjoying F:NV but as product - taking into account the stability issues and the lack of advancement (those models are archaic) its a SHODDY product.
