Camera Mode for Fallout: New Vegas?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 4:47 pm

Does anyone else believe that there should be a camera item in game that you could use to snap pictures of your gameplay, upload it to Bethesda and say "Hey, look what just happened" or "Hey, awesome dual between (Insert Fallout: New Vegas monster/enemy name) and (Insert Fallout: New Vegas monster/enemy name)."

What I am thinking of is an old-fashioned camera that you equip as your weapon. You press the "Scope" button it enters the camera mode. Pulling the "Shoot" button would snap a picture and save it your "Gallery." I think it would be helpful to get those moments of awesomeness.

I'm sorry to not specify, but I meant for consoles like the Xbox 360 and the PS3.

Capture card then.

But if you are persistent, the question has to come up, can the ancient engine support it?

I was considering something just in-game that the developers could patch in. Something that could be used in the game without any outside technology that you have to buy seperate of the game.

Not sure if the engine can handle it...

What is it with you and the engine? You bring up its oldness every chance you get.

I don't see why the engine couldn't handle it. All you need to do is take a screenshot. The game already does it every time you save.

Don't get me wrong this engine has produced classic games and it gave us the elder scrolls iv which is one of my top five favorite games of all time...but this engine is fragile. There's a lot of things it can't handle like...ladders...

I'm pretty sure it can, you know the game makes a screen shot when you save right?

It would be pretty cool if you could capture a moment on consoles. I think that's a CoD: Black Ops feature that we can all agree would be awesome to have in New Vegas.

i dont see why it couldnt upload the images, it would jsut be an option to add to the main menu and connect to Xbox Live, or a specific website set up for the purpose of exchanging screenshots/videos

Capture card?
So... Microsoft is charging for a "Print Screen Key"?
Don't care that much (Don't use screenshots) just seems unnecessary to not have it already built in to the xbox.

PS3 Home has a "camera" object that you can use to that in-game screenshots in first or third person. It would be nice if you can do the same in FONV.

I think you misunderstand. A capture card is a (non-Microsoft) piece of hardware typically used to record stuff on TV to your PC, or a similar storage medium. They're often used to record console gaming, since there aren't very many other options for it

Actually it can they just don't put them in. The back of a intact bus can be climbed on like one in FO3. I was surprised when I started rising up like i was playing daggerfall again.

Adding a camera item in-game where you can take pictures would probably not be that difficult considering GTA: San Andreas did it, for the PS2 and XBOX.

Okay even Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker on the PSP for Godsakes can take screen shots when you use the in game camera, So it would be pretty sad if NV wouldn't enable you to do that on PS3 and 360.

Aren't those close to 100$?

If your talking about an in-game feature of taking screenshots, Gears of War 2 had this before Black Ops.

I would like something like Gears of War 2, except you don't have to die to take the screen shot.
