Hey remember the bigger the body type the more health you have too so as a heavy body type you'd last longer up close and personal with a pistol. I guess that'd be one advantage.

Well if a Heavy had a pistol against a Medium with an AR or Shotgun, I would think the Medium would win as he dances around the Heavy.

No Mediums primary can only be Medium weapons and secondary is Light, same thing for Heavies, primary is heavy weps, secondary is medium or light. Also for people that didn't know, Lights primary is Light weps secondary is pistol.

Actually if you are a medium you CAN carry 2 light weapons, and if you are a heavy you CAN carry 2 medium weapons.

And if you're a Light you can equip two sidearms.

Machine Pistol + Revolver, anyone? I'm sure someone will try this.

One good thing Call of Duty 4 did was point out equip speeds in the tutorial. Something like...

"Switching to your pistol is faster than reloading"
"Knifing an enemy is faster than switching to your pistol."

More games need to point this out. I'm glad Brink has an equip speed bar (I think).

If you can have two of the same weapon class, and I don't see why you shouldn't be able to, then I most certainly will do so. Not all the time, of course, but I will do it. Especially dual sidearms.

Primary Weapon maximum size is based on your class. Lights can take Light weapons (SMGs confirmed, LRs currently unconfirmed, but implied), Mediums can take Medium weapons (Shotgun/AR), and Heavy weapons for Heavy bodies (Minigun, Grenade Launcher).

Secondary Weapon maximums are a step down from the Primary weapon, so lights can only take Pistols/Revolvers, while Heavies can take ARs and Shotguns.

But because you don't HAVE to take the largest weapon available, it's possible for a Heavy to have dual Machine Pistols (although it's unlikely to be the most practical thing to do).

I don't think you can equip two sidearms.

I don't see any reason why not.

Each character Primary weapon is "X size or smaller" and their Secondary is "X - 1 or smaller." And Sidearms are always in the "X - 1 or smaller" bracket. Doesn't seem reasonable to not allow them.

EDIT: Especially with more confirmed Sidearm types than Light Weapons - Semi-Auto Pistol, Machine Pistol, Revoler vs. Light Rifle, SMG. Machine Pistol and Revolver would be a pretty neat combo - less range/firepower than SMG, but better in-close and you get high-damage melee thanks to your combat knife, regardless of which weapon you select.

Well, in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3m2b-j1Yu8M&#t=185s we used for the Weapon Derivitives first, the sidearms were only available in the sidearms-tab.

It's confirmed that long rifles are a light weapon. Some people are just in denial. :spotted owl:

I haven't seen that one, I don't think.

And it doesn't match the info in the Brink Bible or the Wiki.

Link?

Put it this way, if you were 150lbs and you had 3 other people on your tail shooting to kill you, you pick up a heavier gun, would you choose to run slower?

If I only just picked up the new gun, then I'd slow down because of the extra weight, whether I wanted to or not.

What you should be asking is, if I have my shotgun in my hands, does it really weigh me down more than when its slung over my shoulders?

It's to do with the momentum, holding a gun with two hands would slow you down as you cannot swing your arms in good running form.

The physics do check out, Holding a pistol and a knife will surely allow you to run quicker than holding a shotgun. Sure you will still have a total weight that is the same as the shotgun is still on your body, its just the whole momentum building of your arms swinging in motion with you running.

If you were to consider it like you swap your heavy shotgun out for a lighter (still bot hands on it) AR then yeah it wouldn't make much difference as your total body weight is still the same and you are not gaining any extra motion from arm swinging.
