Lost saved games

Steam download (I understand quick saves are a shared save resource)

I have recently stopped playing a level 15 or so guy and decided to start a new char.
This new char which I played all day yesterday made it to around 8 or so.
I come home from work, click steam go to my saves, and no where to be found for this new second char. Only old saves of the 1st guy. (quick saves and manual saves where done)

I also read there was patch deployed so I figure this patch messed it up, so I try again.
Tonight, same exact thing but a little different. I get to around level 5, game crash's. (I did save, with manual saves and quick saves) Boot game back up and again, this new guy I just created 5 hours ago all data is lost.

***All auto-save data is pointed to the first guy I started***

At this point I don't think its worth playing a lick until I can find some sort of solution to this issue.

Both "new" char have been quick saved and menu/save multiple times yet I find NO data files on them at all.
This is beyond frustrating to just "poof" loose 8 hours of my new guy yesterday and then 5 hours today.

If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them, thank you.

Mayhaps try turning off Steam Cloud for FNV, making a brand new save of your manual save, and delete auto/quick saves in the My Documents\My Games\ FalloutNV\Saves folder, restart Steam(For posterity), jump back in the game and check to see if your new manual save is there and your auto/quicks are gone.

If it is still there, probably jump in, do some fast travel to get an auto save and throw in a quick save, then exit game. If when you restart the game, there'll the new auto/quick saves, then you might be lucky. I followed those steps and my saves are acting normal now, so hope it can help you out too.
