Quest problem with Boone & Dino Dee Lite : Fallout: New Vegas

As I was going through the quest to find out information about Boone's wife, I went into the Dino Dee Lite lobby and started stealing everything I could.

I broke into the safe and stole the letter about Boone's wife. After that, I spoke with No Bark and the quest updated to "[Optional] Search the Dino Dee Lite lobby for information...blah blah blah". Yet, I already have the letter in my possession and there is nothing left in that lobby, or in the gift shop either.

Any ideas?

Try re-loading to a save before you stole the letter, and talk to No-Bark first and repeat the process. If you don't have a save game from then, try simply dropping the letter if that works and picking it back up again and if all else fails just do the quest and just bring the lady out in-front and throw on the Beret, when boone asks for evidence you may just be able to show him the letter.

The item is something that cannot be dropped. Once it is in your inventory, it stays permanently. I am too far along to go back to that save at this point. Also, the game does not allow you to but the beret on her at all, just on other characters.

After reading all of the posts in this forum, I'm very disappointed that the game was released in this Alpha stage. Level issues, quest issues, general bugginess of items makes this game almost unplayable. Were they following the Microsoft release standards and letting this game out with only 65% of it completed and tested? I am seriously considering leaving this game and restarting a new FO3 game until FO4 comes out next year. The restrictions on where you can go and all the bugs makes this game very disappointing.

the problems seem to be completely random, I have been playing since the release date and I have found a grand total of ONE bug in the entire game, refering to the monorail quest. I have completed come fly with me fine, the beef quest fine, i have had not one save corruption and it has froze twice. So it seems like it is luck of the draw as to who it will effect. As silly as it souds i thik the problems are coming from the xbox or the content on it. I have like two demos Dloaded on it, no music, no movies or netflix and my game plays fine. only thing i can think of.

Well, I was able to complete the quest somehow. I tried multiple times to get Jeannie May to go in front of the dinosaur, but her conversation path never allowed for it (yes, during the specified times). Every time I tried, she was inside, and when she wasn't in the lobby, she was nowhere to be found. Well, I can scratch that one off of my list now.
