Cool gamemodes that would fit Brink

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:50 am

I think something might go good here, and it's not another copy of any of the above.

It goes something like this: Person A runs to the center of the map first and unlocks a buff that gives him double damage, health regeneration, and a rank 1 Fleet of Foot boost. The downside to this cool buff? He is now highlighted on the radar. Everyone else now wants to kill him because he is gaining points every few seconds (10 or so). Whoever actually does kill him gets the buff, and around the ring we go. First person to 100(200?) points wins.

This mode would have a little free for all, a little tactical, and a whole lot of adrenaline.

P.S. - And it would also shut everyone up who's whining about not having TD, Search, etc.

You know, I was pretty dang good at those, but not too good at the pure brawling challenges.

I managed to get 3 batarangs on each challenge, but the last two were pretty rough. Very little room for mistakes, and it's tough to not make any with so many enemies. Especially when you fight multiple Titans.

EDIT:

They have that in Halo right? I think it's called Juggernaut? And introducing a Free For All game in a team oriented shooter just seems counterproductive to me.

EDIT 2:

And I'm sure people would still complain about no TDM/SND/Demo/HQ because Call of Duty has 'em, and damn it every game should be Call of Duty.

I wouldn't know if they did, I don't play Halo. And the mode isn't a free-for-all per se, everyone is going to need work as a team (I use that term loosely) to bring the buffed guy down. It was just an idea I thought I'd throw out there.

2 to 4 player courier mode, light body type only where each side has 2 light players and a set of pistols. you spawn on opposite sides of the middle of the map, then at the bottom center is a package you must grab and deliver to the top center of the map.

Similar to a mirrors edge chase scene or the mode from assassins creed 2.

Here's one. Bomb Squad. It's a gamemode where the opposing team tries to capture a moving bomb that the other team is trying to move toward an objective. It has 5 rounds, 2 for Security, 2 for Resistance, overtime if necessary.

Sounds like escorting a robot through CC.

Introducing additional gamemodes would most likely make people not play the Missions anymore, because they dislike a single part of a mission.

Batman Mode.

Your fists, your cape, and the shadows.

Good luck.

Do not forget the grappling hook.

I am bored of these well known game modes to be honest,i like Brinks ideas about it.

I like the games to have hardcoe mode but thats not a gamemode :)

Other than that any team based gamemode is very welcome, something innovative though, and i am empty atm..

Ok i got a reall good game mode. Its completely balanced, you have no guns and you cannot move.

Its King of the hill. Whoever spawns in the hill wins!

Totally balanced....

Anyway trolling apart. I think the way it is set up will be really nice. I like how each mission is comprised of mutliple objectives all taken from standard game modes we all know and love!

I always like VIP mode where one person on each team is the VIP and the object is to kill the other teams VIP. Rainbow six had that

or

Assault -Neutral bomb from Halo. One bomb in the center of the map and both teams are trying to get the bomb and plant it in the other teams base.

Well, if you can simply play "regular matches with no campaign tied to them" completely in SP, then I'll be happy.

already confirmed you can do free play of individual "campaign" maps in random selection as if they were not a part of a campaign at all.

That was totally OP!

I hope they do it right in Arkham City.

Agreed. By far the biggest flaw in an otherwise spectacular game.

I'm still amazed they made a Batman game that was actually a blast to play through.

Tag

1 v 7, no guns or weapons. Just hands for pushing.

Details: Each character has a timer that is started when considered the tagger. When timer reaches zero/reaches set time that character is out and simply a spectator camera.
Last person standing wins,

Tagger objective: Find someone to tag before reaching set time limit.
Runner: Don't get tagged.

Side fun things: Runners are still able to knock down opponents to the floor, kind of like it horror movies where someone injures a friend so they can buy themselves time.
