Probably a stupid question but when am i able to repair my own armour?

Prices are sky-high for armour repairs so i'd much rather do it myself.

Is there a certain repair level i must attain beforehand?

At most, you need a Repair skill of 50, but you also need another armor to make the repairs with.

So just need to modify with other armours at workbench, yeah?

No, you just need a similar armor to use as repair parts. So leather armor for leather armor and so on. Repairing armor works the same way as any other repairing.

Jury Rigging perk lets you use wider variety of items for repairing.

No, repairing any item is done completely in your Pip-Boy inventory screen. When you have an item highlighted in your Pip-Boy, there is a list of actions you can perform with that item in the top right corner of the screen. One of the actions listed is Repair.

So, highlight your armor, push whatever button is listed next to Repair, and you'll get a list of items that you can use to make the repairs. When you select an item from the list, it will be used to make the repairs and disappear from your inventory.

If the Repair option is grayed out, that means you don't have any items that can be used to repair whatever item you are highlighting.

I was in a bit of a pickle!!

Jury rigging is awesome. You can repair power armor with metal armor, and reinforced leather armor with regular clothing!
