Dream Theater

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 12:26 pm

Hello gamesas forum members.
My friend, Martin, told me to listen to Dream Theater and he mentioned to me and explained how they are the greatest band ever.

I listened to Octavarium, A Nightmare To Remember, and The Count of Tuscany.
It's so beautiful. So much feeling, work, and love put into their music.

My life is music, without it I'm honestly sure that I wouldn't be here right now creating this topic.

Dream Theater has created a new level of music in my life, I can't believe I'm actually able to grasp the greatness of their music.

What do you think of Dream Theater?

(sorry I came off so overwhelmed by this band, but they are incredibly amazing to me)

I love them. I only own two albums (used to own three but I lost the CD and then the hard drive I had the disc saved to crashed...arg) but that just means I don't go out shopping enough haha.

Ya know, it's kind of funny how you describe your introduction to Dream Theatre. I was introduced to them by a friend as well, one late night after drinking, and I have loved them ever since. Their music is so epic, though I will admit I prefer their earlier music to their later stuff.

It's funny, the first night I heard them, I set my buddies CD player to auto-repeat and kept listening to the same CD over and over for like, literally the entire night. Pretty sure I heard their music in my dreams that night. lol

They are alright, a bit over the top though. for that kind of music I prefer Fates Warning.

I like them. Mike Portnoy is amazing, too bad hes not with them anymore. They sound alot like rush, especially with the vocals. If the singers voice wasn't so weak they could/ve sound/ed alot better though.

That's what I like about them though. Crazy. :D
No idea if they take these kind of songs completely seriously or if they're doing it over the top for the fun of it.

I can see why the voice is a turn off though, it does get annoying sometimes.

My favourite albums are Images & Words and Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence.
