Stuttering when talking and/or looking at/to NPCS

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:55 pm

I have a Win7 64 and my roommate XP 32. We both bought the game via Steam. I have the NPC-Problem in all its facettes. He has absolutely none of it.

So either this is related to Win7 or to 64bit OS'.

Just thought I'd share.

Yeah, I think you are on to something actually. Called my both of my friends, One has Vista 32 bit, and the other has Win 7 32 bit, and they don't have the npc stutter. So it may be a 64 bit issue indeed...unless someone with a 32 bit OS can confirm that they have the NPC issue as well.

It seems to be Windows 7 64 bit and Nvidia causing the problem.

Ditto. I have the NPC lag issue and I have a Nvidia Geforce 360M with Win 7 64 bit. My coworker is running the game on XP and has no issues. Seems we are on to something here.

Having same issues. Frames drop to around 10 with npc's around. Win 7 64 bit, ATI Radeon 5750. Also, the graphics settings don't save after i've changed them. Ugh, this is so frustrating i nearly smashed my monitor!

Same thing here, I don't think calling it stuttering is very accurate though. Can we all agree that this is a case of the frame rate dropping? I think it's more accurate to say that.
