Fallout: New Vegas and Four GB of Ram

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:45 am

So, I don't believe fallout: new vegas is using my four gigs of Ram. I check it in CFF explorer, and it's not set to handle the four. However, since it's a steam game, can I correct this and still be able to play it?

Yea it isn't using 4 gb, only 2 gb. I tried to set it to use more than 2gb, but it wont let me start new vegas when i use the edited exe, starts with an error code. Damn you Steam.

Seriously? It's not like this is a competitive online game. Jebus. Also starting to regret my Steam purchase.

in the fallout.ini there should be a preloadcahchesize command line you can set that higher if you want those unused gigs to be put to work. I set mine to 1024mb in fo3 and it helps.

Still need to be able to patch this to use >2Megs of RAM. Seriously folks. This engine should've had this patched already.
