HD Radeon 5770 Graphical Issues..

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 10:01 pm

Hi guys,

I recently upgraded my rig, with a new motherboard, more RAM, etc. and I'm using the ATI Radeon HD 5770 card.

Could someone shed some light on what might be causing the issues in this short video I uploaded?

..and here are my rig stats..

Thankyou :)

My friend has got this as well with his 6870, he's also looking for help; hopefully someone will respond with a fix soon!

EDIT:

My friend just fixed it, he turned off all the AA (anti-aliasing) and just kept the FXAA on. And it's working fine now after he did that; hope it helps! ^_^

It's because you're using the latest AMD drivers--12.2 (reported as 12.3 in the CCC, which is incorrect). This is a known issue with them, and AMD has said it will be fixed when 12.3 is out.

You have two options: you can keep using 12.2, and disable anti-aliasing in Skyrim for now. You should still be able to force AA via the CCC if you like. Otherwise, you can uninstall 12.2 and reinstall an older version of the drivers. I recommend using the 12.1 officials or the 12.2 preview set (12.2 previews are OK, officials and pre-WHQLs are not), although what driver works best for you will depend on your card and your system.

I had that same problem on my 6870. I went to my skyrim launcher and Turned off AA and it seemed to work.

Its either disabling the AA or install an ENB series, I got the Sapphire Radeon 6850, had the same issue, but I recall I got it from uninstalling a previous ENB setting. Installed another one, and their weird graphical issues was gone...

Use the catalyst 12.1 drivers for now or wait for 12.3. I also have a HD5770 but didn't have this issue. Maybe you should turn off all antialiasing (forced or otherwise) and use FXAA instead. That might work. Somehow turning on even 2xAA (which should have zero to minimal performance impact) decreases my FPS in skyrim by 4-5.. which shouldn't happen, but ah well, that's what FXAA is for.
