Installation
- Make sure that you are not using TESVAL (delete "Skyrim_dir\Data\SKSE\Plugins\TESVAL.dll")
- Copy the contents of the "bin.sse2" folder to the Skyrim root (where TESV.exe is located) , if you are using amd cpu use "bin.fpu" folder instead of "bin.sse2"
- Play !
Notes
- Steam can make an update anytime so make the copy of TESV.exe to use SkyBoost after new patch outs because it will take a while to make SkyBoost update

So, I'm using the latest r5 test 2, but I'm wondering if it's the best? I get very slight stuttering, but not sure if it's related with SkyBoost or just specific versions (also my texture tiling in Whiterun has been blending very badly). Which versions of r4-r5 work the best for you? Should I roll back?
.

Every patch came with an altered .exe file and Alexander had to adapt to it from Skyboost version to version. r5 supports 1.4.21, while r4 supports 1.3.10 and so on (as he states right in the beginning). Alexander also mentioned that he'll might not include GPU optimizations anymore, cause these would conflict with driver optimizations of Nvidia and AMD (or would render his optimizations obsolete). If you want to get rid of the stuttering, try to delete Skyboost. In any case: don't use any current release of Skyboost with patch 1.4.27. This can only make things worse for you and lead to unpredictable things.
