Spellsword stats

So using both magic and melee what would be good stats? Mix of magic and health? Would stamina be needed if not using melee that much? Thanks.

I'm a level 23 mix of light armor, one handed and magic. I tend to conjure help before heading into battle, then following in with destruction in my left hand and a sword in my right.

At this point I've put almost all of my levels into magika with only a couple into stamina. I may start to put some levels into health if I keep getting one-shot at higher levels but I'm holding out a long a I can and leveling magika only.

I'm a Nightblade myself, same basic thing only with light armor and more sneaking and bow use.

For me I've been altering between Magic and Health. At level 27 I have 220 health 200 magic and 150 stamina.

I'll increase health till 250 or so then switch back to magic. Once both of those are at 250 I'll raise fatigue to 200 and likely leave it there. From that point I'll just alternate between health and magic depending on what one I'm finding I need more of at the time.

-edit-
I'm finding 200 magic is just enough to get the battle started and about a quarter of the way through before you have to use melee or potions. With 200 magic I'm able to summon an ally (or raise an enemy) cast Stoneflesh as well as throw a half dozen to a dozen fireballs at my foes.

Stamina however is very useful when you get into melee combat, especially if you use Elemental Fury a lot and chain your slash slash power attacks together. Stamina drops like a rock at that point.

Health is always useful especially since you're lacking a shield and will spend an ample amount of time in melee. If you want to spend most points on magic though be sure to use health boosting items. I'm lucky enough to have a ring and amulet that combined give me 70 extra HP. I'm a monster to anything that's not a boss now.

A battlemage using sword and magic will prosper from many synergis betwen meele and magic.
You can enchant your gear for less mana consumption and for better meele dmg.
You can get better resisnt magic/element combining enchanted gear and alteration passives.
You dont need much Armor rating becuase you can invoke a 80% less dmg spell from alteration.
Your enchanted weapons will use less soul energy if you have the mastery in the correponding spell tree.
You enchanted weapons will deal more dmg or effects will work longer than non-mage ones because of the bonus of perking spell trees.

P.S Stamina is a pointless stat becuase mages dont need it really and meele can swing swords without it, and if you enchant your weapon with a drain stamina effect you can power attack unlimited times.

No need for Stamina just grab Respite perk in Restoration tree and cast a heal for stamina.

Theres no need to worry about weapons with the Conjured weapon spells (Bow one is really good due to unlimited magic arrows).

Um, there is no Drain effect (I think you meant Absorb?) in Skyrim, so this idea is useless. :shakehead:

You just answered the problem by saying the effects right name. Yeah its absorb dosnt make the point less valid.

Actually if u cook, u'll need stamina only for sprinting, theres a dish(haha) that restores 1 point of stamina and health every 1 sec for 720 seconds so with that u can unleash power attack after power attack without worry so its up to u if want more stamina for sprinting. u should probably get 250 magicka 250-300 health and get some enchanted gear that lets u cast the types of magic that u use for less and only after that worry about stamina(if cook that is, if not go 2-3 lvls magicka, 2lvls health, 1 stamina :))
