Where was it located?

At one specific point in Morrowind it will spawn a very large creature instead of the normal sized one, so I guess they did the same here. Except that in Morrowind it was alive, and not here :P

I have read from other posters they found the body of a dead giant mudcrab in a dried up pool/puddle.
Awesome :)

I like the torchbug in a jar and butterfly in a jar to decorate my home with.
I suspect there may also be a moonmoth in a jar, seems logical, but havent found it yet :)

Yes! I found it yesterday. I actually thought it was a rock but no its a HUGE mudcrab with a bunch of little ones surrounding it. I'd take a screen but I'm at work. :(

Yeah, stumbled across this guy last night. The other odd thing... there are a bunch of mudcrabs around it, but one of them looked like a slightly different model. Didn't have the pointy top to the shell, but rather a flat shell. i.e. it looked more like the big one than the little on in the screenshot further up.

There is also a bee in the jar and blue butterfly ( found in some dungeon with falmers ).
Nice collector item for any house

Yeah, this is actually a significant location. There's a hunter in a secluded hut somewhere in the autumn-looking area of Skyrim, I can't remember where. He gives you a quest to go around killing ethereal beasts, one of which is a giant spectral mudcrab, right there at that location. Pretty awesome. ;)
