The Bethesda Supporters Thread

Post » Sun May 27, 2012 9:22 pm

With the release of the new patch, everyone's complaining and whining. I just recently read a post where the OP went as far as to suggest that Bethesda give the Elder Scrolls title to another company... if this ever happened, The Elder Scrolls would be lost forever. These forums are currently full of nothing but trolls, whiners, and immaturity. I understand that Bethesda needs feedback from us, and that's fine, but not everyone's handling it with maturity. Keep rockin' Bethesda, don't let a few screw-ups and cry babies knock you down!

I've been playing a helluva lot since I got the game, no problems what-so-ever. Gotta say I'm pretty happy with the game so far.

That being said..... nerd-rager hijack in 3.....2......1

I've had what, three freezes since launch? Yeah that's good for a bethesda game. Good for a game in general.

might be a bit shocking but...complaints are how you support a game, by telling the devs what they got wrong (i'll give you the threads around here have a lot of extra insults to weed through, but it is still feed back), devs WANT complaints (or should, from what iv heard they ignored the complaints with the patch and added a fix for things noone was complaining about)

I agree that the devs should hear the complaints but is it too much to ask for the complainer to be advlt about it and deliver the complaint in a civil manner.

lol the real supporters of bethesda are the people who complain. blindly defending them does not help things. sure some peoples complaints are not worded very well, but how much would you care about that if you had been buying their games since 1994 and seeing the same problems in game after game over all those years? or how about watching them remove more and more stuff from their games in the name of accessibility(especially when some of that stuff they keep removing are some of the things that made the elder scrolls games so great). sure they have improved some stuff with skyrim, but they have gone backwards in a lot of places as well.

Once you start seeing the rash of those posts/threads being dumped upon forums, do what a smart advlt does. Hmmm. Check time of day. "aghhh, yes. School is out for the day" note the time, and note to just go do something else.

That and there are ofc always the "4channers" and "somethingawefullers" who will bust in and post.

Actually I think Beth would prefer some constructive criticism rather than the usual rants/whines that we see here. Is it really that hard to communicate your issues in a mature manner? I mean, people will take you more seriously...

Yay! Butterflies and happiness!

Or not. I only support what deserves support and bethesda doesnt really deserve that right now. If theres something to complain about thats what you need to do. I care about TES enough to complain on these forums about the things I dont like.

I support Bethesda wholeheartedly by letting them know where they went wrong and how they shouldn't have, some people are just complaining but many of us are just long time ES Fans that don't want to see the quality of the series drop because of ridiculous mistakes.

Well, after the patch, the game is running fine for me.

Not why i made this post though. I've seen a few "oh wow!" moments so far, but what really takes my breath away are the Dwemer ruins, which i think is one of the best done parts of the game. Great going, guys!

No, its not hard, but it gets more tedious and aggravating the more we see things happen that screw with our product that we paid 60 bucks for get worse and worse with lots of people posting about the same damn thing all the damn time and not having a single damn word spoken from Bethesda concerning it.

Do you realize how much it would alleviate some of the tension for there to be a sticky at the top of the forums saying such like;

"Hello Skyrim Fans! This is Bethesda. We want to express our deep felt appreciation for the amount of passion that you have for the game that we have developed and wish to express to you that we understand your frustration concerning all the problems/bugs/glitches that you have experienced.

We wanted you to know that we are monitering these forums, taking notes and working diligently and in due course will try to hammer out/squash and obliterate these bugs as soon as we can and wish for you to be patient as we do so. We know you want this to continue to be the best gaming experience yet in our Elderscrolls series, but bear in mind that these things take time. Please report your problems in the threads given and we will do our best to continue to make your time and effort well spent."

Have we seen them make an effort in putting something like this out in the open?

:flame: NO! :flame:

So, yeah. A little pissed of and its justifiable.

He's not saying constructive criticism is a bad thing. He's saying trolls and whiners have taken over the forums, and they have. By my logic that's because the rest of us are too busy playing the game to come here and troll on a regular basis.

I will say this about the patch though....They fixed several "rare" bugs that didn't really effect the overall gameplay, and neglected several bugs that were far more important imo. Such as the bug I ran into on my assassin that won't allow me to complete the Thieves Guild. That is more game breaking than some of the nonsense they patched....with the exception of the PS3 file size bug obviously. They did a wonderful job on this game and I love it, I think they could have done better on the patch but I still support them as a company. Not "blindly", but I support them.

If they ever turn into Bioware/EA then I'll stop following them altogether.

The only reason people complain is because they love this game so much, lol. Face it, if people didn't want to play it so bad, they wouldn't be so pissed when the game is buggy or not working. I have fought through a couple bugs but now have a close to perfect game, and I can't complain one bit. In fact it is the best game I have ever played, and I have played a lot of games! Forcing updates through Steam could cause some of the issues as well, might want to lay off on that in the future. At least then people can gradually get patches and not be forced into a bug.

Bethesda, keep doing what you do because it is awesome in my book!

Agreed Mr OP. Haven't played today since the patch but some of these people are ridiculous. Complaints are definitely obviously allowed to be posted but put em in a constructive manner at least. And if Beth ever sold TES, well, I wouldn't be playing the series anymore. :\

Snip
Oh of course, I completely agree it would alleviate a lot of the tension here. It would be great if someone from Beth could post here from time to time, even just to inform us they're working on issues. I know they post on their blog, but I would appreciate if they posted here as well.

But i just wanted to point out that most of the complaints i see here are just rants, that provide no real purpose except to vent. If they just took a step back, took a deep breath and then posted like advlt, I'm sure you'd get a better response if only from other forum goers.
