What's your favorite city and why?

Either Morthal, Markarth, or Solitude. Probably Markarth.

Windhelm would be cool if I wasn't a Dunmer.

Whiterun for me too. When I have the gold I'll probably move to solitude.

I often visit Riverwood too.

Windhelm, I enjoy the company of all the other Dunmers like myself.

Whiterun. I don't know why, bit I feel a bond to that city. I married Ysolda, I live there and I love the NPCs that walk around there.
Taking it over was sad for a while, but in the end it was for it's own good.

Whiterun...
It reminds me of Edoras from Lotr.
And the Jarl is always nice to me.

Whiterun and Dawnstar. I have a home in Whiterun, that tiny place is the only location I feel safe in the whole of Skyrim.

Beth did a terrific job with the atmosphere in this game.

Whiterun or Markarth

Same, Whiterun simply because their is a great texture mod, which makes it look even more awesome. Markarth because I like the idea of a whole city build into a former dwarven fortress (and the dwarven fortresses of Skyrim are amazing ;)).

I like both Solitude and Whiterun about equally. Whiterun is special since it is the hometown to the Companions, while Solitude is the HQ of the Imperial Legion.

Whiterun. It looks so cosy and comfortable, with a nice hunting area around it. All the other major towns are so dark and gloomy in comparison.

Riften. Honeyside is AMAZING. The back porch how it leads onto the lake is cool.

I would have said Markarth, but I get a really dangerous vibe from that place. I think it's all the rock, it makes me feel intimidated. So I'll have to go for Solitude or Whiterun instead. Whiterun is where I have a house.

I hate Markarth. The people, the city, the guards, the atmosphere. I did the "main" quest there and then couldn't wait to leave.

Markarth is good, but my favorite is solitude. It's nice and sunny, with some woods in the area despite the location. And as a theif theres a lot of places to rob. But I also like Riften and Whiterun. Not sure where I want my Argonian Theif/Assassin to live yet.

Falkreath for sure, I love the forest and dirt paths around it. After that it's Windhelm for it's awesome Jarl and winding streets full of fellow racists, and then Markath for it's awesome architecture and towers.

all the major cities are really well done. riften is beautiful, love the trees and how it's in a state of perpetual autumn. honeyside is my favorite location, you get a porch and a boat, and a great view (if only they would have added two more storage containers in the basemant). whiterun is perfectly practical, centrally located, plenty of vendors. solitude has a great view of the ocean and has a nice high class feel. windehelm is kind of run down, reflecting it's age and internal strife. i hate markarth. vlindel feels like a vault-tec vault and the people are worse than riften. markarth citizens are a very nasty bunch. besides that, it is very well designed though.

layout and design of all cities is great, makes it very hard to choose. credit to bethesda. i have to choose based on the populace, so whiterun would win. they're very tolerant and easy going people (as easy going as you can be with a civil war and dragon attacks). riften would be my favorite except for the stranglehold of corruption stomping on the citizenry.

It's really a toss up between Whiterun and Solitude. I love Whiterun as it's my first home. I enjoyed crafting and running to the forge for conversations with the young lady there. Solitude is safe, resting above the winds and the cold. That is until two elder dragons sought it fit to attack there. Now, there is simply apprehension.

Whiterun. Although the other cities are great, Whiterun just feels most like home.
