100 sneak...glitch or not?

Post » Thu Sep 27, 2012 4:37 am

Most of you are probably aware of the 100 sneak glitch but what i want to know is...is it actually a glitch?
Bethesda have made numerous updates but these 'Glitches' have not yet been addressed. Im starting to wonder...are these actually glitches? if not what could they be descibed as? Another example is the 100 speech 'glitch'.
I am aware though that they did make it harder to get 100 smithing, so now just doing daggers will not get you too far.
I am an Xbox user btw, not PS3 or PC.
Thanks for reading and i hope you can answer my question, jeazz (:

I have no clue what this "100 sneak glitch" is.

I'm at 100 sneak now and I've seen no ill-effects of the level.

Type it in on youtube if you have the time. Its at high hrothgar, you basically sneak behind someone sat down and stab them in the back with an iron dagger. The sneak skill increases dramatically. 100 sneak in 10 minutes.

or you do the same with sneak bow shots and raise both sneak and archery ;)

theres so many quest breaking glitches in game that need to be fixed and you're complaining about exploits glitches that can simply be avoided?

Im not complaining, youve mistaken this for a rant. Im simply asking what this is called. I do not know whether it is a glitch or not, if it was a glitch i assumed Bethesda wouldve tried to fix the problem. They may have tried and failed who knows. They can and are avoided i am aware of this as i have avoided them both. Its all in the title but i suppose you kind of answered my question by calling it an exploit glitch. :)

Most friendly npcs will allow you to hit them a few times before they become hostile, its not a glitch but rather a purposly implimented mechanic so that if you accidently hit a friendly they don't automatically turn hostile. You can exploit this with the sneak attack on the greybeards because they are level 150 and have 1000+ health.

This is not a glitch but rather a way of exploiting a game mechanic that serves a different purpose. There is nothing to "fix".

Edit: Agnier is the one who is level 150 with 1292 health, the others are level 100 with 875 health

Thank you very much, i suppose this is the same for the speech exploitation? The smithing 'glitch' wasn't really a glitch either but Bethesda have made it harder just so 100 smithing is something to be proud of, not like it was when everyone had it.

How do the Greybeards not attack you when you do this?

They have a great amount of health and a high level.

It's not a glitch. It's the same as doing it to a whole bunch of enemies just a lot faster. So instead of sneak attacking hundreds of draugr and bandits, you just do it to the greybeards over and over. The Greybeards don't attack because their faction is friendly towards you.

And it's not like something you might do accidentally either - you have to plan to do this. So it's not something to fix, because it's not broken.
