After reading an article specifically on PVP, I understood that PVP will be seperated into multiple campains and that you will be penalized if you attempt to join a different campain. So you will most probably want to join a campain with your guild / friends and stay in that campain for as long as it runs. Cyrodil is a large area.. so how does the 200 players limit work? Is it going to be 200 players fighting in the campain (all of Cyrodil) at one given time? ( so 66 to 67 players per faction) Will it be a maximum of 200 players per faction? (so 600 players in total if you count all 3 factions). Will it be 200 players able to fight on screen at one given time? so for example.. Keep A is being attacked.. there are 100 attackers so Keep A can have up to 100 Defenders? Meanwhile.. Keep B, Keep C, Keep D can also all have 200 players each at those specific locations?
How many players will be able to sign up to a specific campain? if the limit is 200 players, those 200 players will not all be online at the same time.. so you'll probably only end up having half of those players online at one given time. If you allow more then 200 players to sign up for a campain, you will likely have situations where more then 200 players may be trying to enter the campain at some point. Would this mean having queues to get into the pvp campain?
Also there are alot of large MMO communities out there. Which means many many large guilds. You look at Guild Wars 2 for instance.. its not uncommon to see guilds with 200 to 300 players. How many players will Guilds be able to have and would being part of a really large guild penalize you when entering Campains? would it also prevent other guilds from signing up to the same campain?
These are just questions I wanted to throw out there.. I've read alot of ESO material but I don't think what i've asked here has been covered by the ESO team yet.
One thing that I hope they do right in ESO pvp is not make it like Guild Wars 2.. where the best way to win is simply to log on during the middle of the night and take everything over while the other factions / servers are asleep. Makes for pretty boring pvp when you get back the next day to see that the Entire map has been flipped by 1 server just because they had a good number of guilds who are on a different time zone and play while most players on your server are sleeping. It basically makes everyone from your faction simply not care or try anymore.. since its soo hard to take a couple of Keeps during peek hours (which won't give you many points). and then you lose everything at night. Also in GW2, each captured keep, or supply camp gives a number of points every 15 minutes to the owning faction. So you can imagine that at night.. if a faction manages to capture everything. they are getting ALOT of points every 15 minutes.. and the gap of points between that faction and the other factions soon becomes ridiculous.. its simply not possible to catch up.
So I really hope ESO thinks of a better points / Score system then GW2 did.. because although GW2 seemed like it was going to be an amazing PVP World vs World system.. players soon realised its actually quite broken.
