2011 Xbox 360 dashboard update allows for DLC 'sharing'?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 3:29 am

Previous to the 2011 dashboard update, if you recovered your gamertag on another console, it would become unavailable on the previous one. In other words, you couldn't sign in unless you recovered it again.

Now with the update you 'download your profile' instead of recovering it. What this does is, once a GT is downloaded on an Xbox, it's pretty much there forever. As long as no one is signed into it, you will never have to recover it.

With this being the case, will you be able to buy DLC, download it on another console (under your GT), and since you won't be recovering the gamertag back to your console, the DLC should work on both, correct?

I'll post this on the Xbox forums tomorrow but, it's gettin' pretty late so I'll be heading off to bed. Thanks in advance.

Maybe but I don't think it works like that. The same way I couldn't play Sonic 2 when my friend had his gamertag signed in on my xbox, unless he was signed on and had loaded it for my GT.

- Side note: New Dashboard svcks balls.

I'm really not sure. I would definitely check with the xbox forums.

Also, I agree with this. I want the blades back. :brokencomputer:

I want the previous one back, too many pages, adverts on each one, more adverts than actual game content on screen.
With all that damn advertisment you'd think they'd make XboxLive free - or at least cheaper.

Agreed. Why are there even adverts? The format is similar to the windows phone... but we have xbox 360 not windows phones. The inside xbox section is hidden and without spotlight it is annoying to navigate. [Insert Y U NO meme]

Edit: [Y U NO meme] in the context of 'xbox u changed Y U NO change back'

Y U NO NO PAPAFERN NO NO MANY MEMES!

For them to create the almost perfect dashboard all they would need to do is: ALLOW CUSTOMISATION BY THE USER!!!!

Yep, I don't have or want to spend extra money. I just want to play the game and be able to message friends. Music and being able to DVDs on it helps too. However all the other features annoy me. Hopefully if enough people idly moan about it microsoft will change it back (Hahahahaha!)

No, no, no :nono:
Thats not how its works, if we ignore it or moan it will remain there and get worse. What we SHOULD do is constantly use it and make it sooooo popular it becomes a "seasonal treat" that we only get at Christmas or in Summer.
Really though where does my £35 go when I buy Live....

There is more chance of the sun exploding as you read this than Microsoft ever changing something that generates them profit.
