256 mb gpu?

Hey there!

Unfortunately i'm sitting behind a laptop, so i was wondering will i be able to run the game at all on a 256 mb 8600 gt m graphics card? I read that 512 is minimum, but perhaps it's due to the fact most gamers use 20+ inch displays, and Bethesda just accommodated naturally?

Maybe at low settings at a low resolution. My laptop has similar specs and I'll try to run Skyrim on it.

Might work, but chances are it will not be a good experience. Better start saving for a desktop.

Yes, the question here is about texture loading. VRAM doesn't make a GPU any faster or slower. It just gives you a chance to load more textures into buffer.

I'm just interested if Bethesda haven't put any stupid check script for it.
