360 freezing problem when I add the north wing

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 3:48 am

Every time. Every damn time. If I add the north wing (I have not tried the west yet) my game starts to freeze when I enter or leave my house. It is to the point of being unusable. Will this be fixed with a patch?

Have you tried removing the workbenches in your home via the drafting table? This seems to stop most of the freezing issues people are reporting with their homes. You can always re-add them when you're ready to use each one.

No I have not. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try it.

Actually, come to think of it, I don't think that will work because the problem started when I set the design, and all there was in the north wing was rope pinned up where the foundation would be. There was no table then.

Hmm, not sure then. Might still be worth removing any workbenches in the house though. Which house is this happening at?

You could try is saving the game and restarting the console. Is the game actually freezing or is the loading screen just taking a long time? You could also try turning the autosaving options off, which can cut down on freezing, although this freezing problem might not be related.

The Falkreath house. It is the only home I have built so far. I haven't removed any of the workbenches yet.

The game freezes during the loading screen going in or out of the house. It is the only time that has ever happened in all of my Skyrim time.

I always have autosave off, btw. Thanks for the tips though!

You have some of the house built, have you lost anything in the house perhaps, an item or member of your family? You lose something the game can start doing all sorts of strange things, even after it turns up again. Especially if you lose any children. You could also try going back and building different wings for Lakeview, some had trouble with just that house. So perhaps the greenhouse, trophy room or armory there could cause you problems.

The loading screen is going to take ages on the houses, so you could try leaving it and seeing if it recovers, if it has not loaded in 10 minutes it never will. You could also try installing the game if you have not already and see if that helps.
