3rd person animation

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 7:10 am

So oddly enough I've seen myself playing skyrim in 3rd person mostly, something I would have never thought I'd say about a Bethesda game. Oblivion was horrid with this mode although I occasionally used it. Overall I think it's way better and I love being able to zoom to my liking. My one gripe is that there is no animation for turning around, try doing it and your character magically faces the other direction which is a bit annoying they didn't put in the time for this but oh well otherwise after my 10 hours with the game Skyrim is almost perfect.

I hate when games have that turning 180 animation, it makes third person so sluggish IMO. I think Skyrims is spot on, I actually play the majority of combat in third person now. Especially when fighting dragons :P

^Agreed one hundred percent. Though there are some games that do it well (Assassin's Creed Brotherhood) most of the time is stuffs up immensely.

Well yeah I like it more without the 180 degree turn if it were to be crap and a hassle, I'm happy there are more transition animations in the first place since I dont remember there being much of them in Oblivion lol made the game choppy in some areas.

Also yeah Im playing on the 360. You click the zoom button (right anolog) and move back or forth with the left anolog. When I first started playing 3rd person I thought "hmm ok this seems a bit too close" but then I realized you can move it way back so I thought "nicely done Bethesda :celebration: "

Such an improvment, and the best way to sneak.
