3rd person crosshair is too high?

Post » Sun May 20, 2012 11:12 am

Edit: I forgot to put this is about magic, not bows.

I dont know if this is a glitch or on purpose but I have tested this using magic and the place your actual attack lands is much lower then the crosshair while in 3rd person.

In 1st person its perfect and everything aims directly towards your crosshairs, but if you change to 3rd person, all ranged attacks hit lower. I tried Flames and Sparks and they both striked much lower,if I had to aim,I would always be forced to move the crosshair above the enemy in order to strike them.

Is this intentional or is it a problem with the placement of the crosshairs in 3rd person?

No one else notice this? Or is it just me?

I go into first person to use projectile magic or ranged anyway as I'm more accurate without my character taking up the screen, so I've not noticed it.

Yeah 1st person works fine, and melee in 3rd person works great too,but I thought they fixed ranged combat in 3rd person? All my magic strikes way lower then the crosshairs....

It's on purpose. You have to account for gravity, and the fact that it is shot slightly at an upward angle.

Gravity effects fireballs and lightning bolts? Im pretty sure fireballs and lighting fly in a straight path, sorry about that,I should of mentioned I was talking about magic and not bows.

I've noticed the crosshair to be off when trying to loot items in open containers, like in cauldrons or on shelves. I always have to put the crosshair a little up and to the right of the item I'm trying to loot. This is only an issue in 3rd person view, but that's the view I play in.

Yeah third-person is never going to be perfect, the game just isn't designed around the perspective.

Yeah,I've had this problem too,its like the crosshairs dont correspond with where your actually aiming sometimes, and the distance and angle have an effect on what your aiming at too.

But in 1st person, aiming works perfectly fine,it makes no sense.

I never fire from 3rd person so I haven't noticed this.
