[HELP] 4GB Skyrim

Post » Fri May 18, 2012 8:02 pm

When I run the .exe for the 4GB Skyrim mod, none of my other mods load. I assume this has something to do with the fact that the .exe 4gb is differently named than the default Skyrim .exe. Anyways, can someone help?

The newest version (release 5 last I checked) loads the 4gb exe in its own subdirectory.

You just have to use the commandline option to put it in the right place.

just ladd

-laaexe "[insert your game folder path here]\tesv.4gb"

to the short cut. It will put the exe in the game folder where it can load the various renders and such correctly.

Hopefully Bethesda will release the next patch soon so we won't need it anymore.

Patch and the new CS. (sorry I keep forgetting what their calling it now and am too lazy to look)

I don't know how much work went into this mod, but since I started using it I have no more weird artifacts, missing textures/shaders, and most importantly no more CTD's :goodjob:. All of which were happening way to often.

Just copy any DLLs you want to load with the game to skyrim\exes\

EDIT: Also, this information was in the readme. ;)

Can you be more specific than "other mods"? Loose file mods like texture mods and esp based mods should be loading fine. DLL injection mods (Script Dragon, FXAA), however, will not. If you're using Script Dragon or FXAA /w 4gb skyrim they need to be installed at the path of the modified executable run by the 4gb launcher, which by default on 1.5 is [gamefolder]\exe. Script Dragon ASI's can still go in a [gamefolder]\ASI folder (this folder does not have to be moved). SKSE despite being a DLL injection mod still gets installed in [gamefolder] as 4gb skyrim is SKSE aware and checks for and loads it.

So assuming you want to use 4GB Skyrim, Script Dragon, FXAA, and SKSE all at once you should have:

skyrim game folder\ ASI\ (script dragon ASIs) EXE\ tesv.exe (the modified copy run by 4gb skyrim) (FXAA files) (Script Dragon files) tesv.exe (skse files)
4gb skyrim can go anywhere you want, in my case I stick it in [gamefolder]\4GBSkyrim.
