500 Emperors?

Post » Thu Mar 14, 2013 2:19 pm

If each Cyrodiil campaign or shard is limited to 2,000 players and a million players decide to pvp in ESO, does that mean there will be at least 500 emperors at the same time?

Don't think he said that he hated it. Not yet at least.

But yes. 500 something or another emperors within the specified parameters. Will likely be far fewer campaigns though.

I still think this isn't really a problem. Those 2000 people you are campaigning with are the same 2000 people supposedly that you will always be campaigning with (unless you use real world dollars to transfer to another). It will still be extremely difficult per campaign to be emperor and everyone in your campaign will know you were the one the reached emperor. I think this is fine and still provides you with fame/notoriety.

The real challenge is when people start claiming which campaign is the most elite/best-pvp in the megaserver. there will be entire sites devoted to rating campaigns from most to least competitive. Then it will be a challenge moving into those campaigns that you want to exist in.

It's not a matter of hating the megaserver. I don't even know what the megaserver really is yet. I was wondering if there will be one emperor per campaign or will they have to compete against other campaigns on the megaserver to become emperor of the megaserver? Like will it be 'there can only be one' or will it be 'there can only be one for every 2,000 players'?

Whoa hold on there. They've always said "campaign points" to switch, never said anything about micro transaction switching.

One server for all players. Think of campaigns like shards in guild wars games. There are 2000 versions of the center of the map, pvp zone Cyrodiil. You belong to Cyrodiil #1345. You play with the 2000 other players who belong to Cyrodiil #1345. You can become emperor of Cyrodiil #1345.

The first part of your question, do winning faction of one Cyrodiil move up in rank and fight a winning faction of another Cyrodiil? Like a round robin tournament or bracket system? No, at least I don't think so. Nothing at all has hinted toward this to my knowledge. You will always be fighting the factions members that belong to Cyrodiil #1345.

Whoa hold on there. They've always said "campaign points" to switch, never said anything about micro transaction switching.

My bad, I should have said you will have to spend "some sort" of in-game currency in order to move. How you get that currency I don't think is revealed fully. I would bet money...that it involves money lol

Yeah, that.
Unimportant for the discussion, but thanks regardless.
