An "abandon quest" option

Post » Sat Dec 17, 2011 10:25 am

I'm one of those people that want to complete everything in they're quest log.

But the problem is that I like to Roleplay my characters. It almost infuriates me when I see a quest that I don't want to complete, but its really really hard for me to ignore it.

Warning: Spoiler Heavy

Spoiler
Like in the quest Forbidden Legend. You get the quest by either killing a certain boss or finding a book on a guy's corpse. This is all and good, you go kill the bosses to get some pieces of an amulet. But then on the last piece, you have to get into Saarthal. Which is only done by joining the college, which my character would never do.

Also with the Quest Innocense Lost. I'm sure almost everyone has done it at least once. You can't even atempt to stop the kid. Your only option is to kill that old hag. I'd rather my character just not get involved. When someone asks him to murder, he kindly says no and gets the hell out of there. It did have a postive effect though, by being able to wipe out the DB if you killed Astrid. This I had to look up online to find out, which I hate to do.

Of course there would need to be some rules put it so people don't abuse it, like taking away all the XP and items associated with that quest.

I know there are alot of you who say "just ignore it, your don't HAVE to do it".

Your right, I don't.

But for it to just sit there and stare at me for the rest of the game is what pains me. :banghead:
I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Edit: I play on the 360, so no console for me :sadvaultboy:

Change your perception of 'joining the college'. Consider it finding out about magic, and not training in it. You don't even have to cast a spell to get in if you're creative about it. They ask you to cast the light spell to get in. After that you can do what ever you want.

I want this option badly. I have a fear of the Windhelm guards telling me about the boy trying to contact the Dark Brotherhood because I play as a warrior.

I would be delighted with such an option. I'd love to be able to clean up my quest log.

I agree, the quests I don't want to pursue are starting to pile up.. and it's cluttering my quest log..

This I did, but then they give you more quests in the college.

So its just more quests I don't want to do, but then I do them to get them off my quest log, and then I'm Arch Mage. :banghead: :brokencomputer:

I was asked to cast a Fear spell.

OCD is a terrible thing. I know first hand. So for the OCD make an "abort quest" button. Though for me, my OCD helps me find places and things in the game.
