Able to be evil hinted at in Arrival tailer?

Post » Sat Feb 01, 2014 6:51 am

After watching the "arrival" trailer, the *spoilers* Breton, was turned evil and become a powerful necromancer. Was this a secret hint to being able to join molag bal? to be honest this would be amazing. I loved my evil characters in TES and the concept of being forced to be a goody goody two-shoes needing to fight the daedra instead of worshiping and fighting for them is infuriating.

I'd like to make a Breton shadow knight, fighting my kin for the bonuses given to me by molag bal, darkness enthralled around me, shadows move around me and my sadistic stare feels like a knife when I touch down on with a anchor.

To an extreme, this would turn me off the game for a bit and I think it may do the same for others.

Also this would add a beautiful and unique addition to PvP, everybodies an enemy in the base game, but in this it would be (PvP)vP the one in the bracket being the alliances. In the trailer you saw undead laying siege to Cyrodil, this could be a second hint, seeming as the evil players will be a minority are we given an extra skill tree for necromancy/general-daedra-shiz.

Also, how do you feel about daedric artefacts? should they be truly unique like the emporer or be the result of unique very tough quest, allowing for multiple people to get them.

Maybe they will add necromancy, yes. A while ago, this was a very popular subject here at the forums. Surely, Zenimax must have noted this.

As for Daedric Artifacts... I hope not everyone goes around spamming his/ her Sanguine Rose. Let's keep it at that.

Some people can stretch meaning out of anything. No, it doesn't mean you can join molag bal, the breton was possesed by mannimarco

I don't think that was Mannimarco. Just some powerful Lich.

Not even, just a dremora kyvatl or whatever their name was

Also as annoying as it is, I agree, seems to big of a thing to hide, but then again they did hide bigger and they have said some good info will be coming over the next few weeks.

But for a series that prides itself their is almost no choice, or if their is, it's not in are right areas. As much as hate to say it, I think I'll pass on ESO

Really ? That what you got from that Trailer because from what I understand they just raised him as a zombie , not given him any powers, just your average uninteligent , going by instinct zombie. Remember it's not just Molag Bal that gonne be a big bad there is also Manimarco you know the guy that invented modern necromancy , the guy that in future will become god of worms.

In short I really doubt there will be any chance to be a badguy .

I think if you were allowed to do that, EVERYBODY would want to do it. But then again, they managed to even out werewolfs and vamps so they will be a minority. I'm all for it!

I assumed that the pale guy that came out of the portal was Mannimarco, and then possessed the Breton or turned him into a Lich.

We already know how old Manni will look, they posted his concept art , if I remember correctly they decided to go with handsome Altmer in Shining armor.

Oh well. Anything is better than the sack of potatoes he had for a head in Oblivion.

I tend to suspect that video was purely "promotional material" and nothing more. So if its reflected in the game, or not, makes no difference to me.

We'll see. I might be wrong, or others might be wrong. Just wanted to say that the lure of an evil character is now very high after seeing that amazing artwork on elderscrollsonline.com

Just click on the second 'dot' in the slide show on their site. Jeez, Molag's face in the clouds looks so scary and awesome at the same time.

Can we please have that art as a wallpaper ZOS? Please, please, please...

Couldn't agree more, I hate having to follow the "good guy" path. Would be great to have an option, but I can't see it happening...

Most MMOS don't do well with making the play the bad guy.

Well they could, but they would probably give your actions no effect on the world.

Good would still win, in the end.

I [censored] you not, I would do that...

But I am still suspicious of why they added the necromancer/dark ending, the bit when tge bird rescues the big elf was a metaphor for us all coming together to fight the real enemy yet not all of "us" actually allied in the ending, seems like a sneaky hint TBH

That would be amazing. Asheron's call did this on their PvP server. You could swear yourself to Baelzharon the Hopeslayer.

Doing so in ESO would create an amazing dynamic as you'd be hostile to all 3 factions. I would love this!

I kind of liked the way SWTOR did it if you have played that game you know what I'm talking about but like you said it doesn't really have any effect on the world. But it would be interesting to see certain NPC's be scared of you and say things to you differently in towns than if you were a neutral person.

It was too much fun being evil in SWTOR...I wanted to level a "Good" character as my next character but I couldn't resist choosing the evil options again lol, some NPC's you could deny the quest and just kill them instead, just having that freedom of choice makes that game all the more fun though.

You wont be able to join Molag-Bal because he is part of the story, you don't have to be a good guy in ESO really, but you will have to save your planet to go on existing. When you stop to think about it you cant really be "evil" in the SP TES games either, ya you can become a vampire or kill everyone join the dark brotherhood and be a necromancer all at once but it's more of a justice system than a good/evil system in the end. If you want to play the story you have to end up the hero and it won't be any different here.
