So... About how it is all going to turn out

Ever since the release of information on the setting the game will take place and the alliances, there has been a question bugging me.

Wouldn't the players who have chosen any race other than Nord (and other Nedic races, to some extent) would eventually be playing for the lose? I mean, what difference will succeses of each faction make in the end when a certain Atmoran with a chip on his shoulder and the ability to shout his way into divinity comes around?

And I don't think that the devs can actually retcon a character as big and central to the whole Elder Scrolls Lore as him out.

So, I am interested about your input on this matter. How do you think Bethesda will be able to handle this certain defeat of races?

By not allowing the game clock to reach that point in time. The lore says that there were many minor (historically speaking) Emperors during this time, so it's all good :)

Well, there's about 300 years between the game's start and the rise of Talos, so I guess you are right. Still though, I guess that is the nature of prequels is that you already know how it all will turn out, so, at least lore wise, it won't matter if, say, the players of Aldmeri Dominion were so successful that they dominated Tamriel. :S

Pretty much. The flip side of this coin is Mechwarrior Online where canon dictates when the Clans start their big push, and the devs have committed to a one day in our time advances the calendar one day in game. So literally less than a year before a major shift takes place....

Still good question :)
