About HUD.

Hey, did anyone play Alan Wake on PC? After I turned off the HUD it was still very easy to track everything. Weapon info only pops up when you switch weapons, HUD is based on the distortion of the screen, etc. They did have mechanic where light turned into the waypoint though, so there was no need for a radar.

I hope Dishonored doesn't have a waypoint system, or its kept very vague, like go north, or something.
I like waypoint systems, but it wouldn't fit for a sandbox game like Dishonored

I am also a fan of minimalist HUDs. Pop up ammo counts & what not when it's relevant, no need for those things to be a constant static image on screen. Someone mentioned FarCry 2 & that is a great example of minimalist fading HUD. It only appeared when relevant to the context (I.E. when switching weapons/ grenade types or reloading)
