About stability

So Fallout 3 was very unstable for me with mods. One day it would be fine then the next it would crash all day. So do you think New Vegas will be more stable than Fallout 3? I mean, they are on the same engine and I hearObsidian aren't the best when it comes to technical things, but do you all think it'll be more stable than Fallout 3?

Instability in a modded gamebyro engine game is usually user error. Generally, a problem with the load order not being set up properly or incompatible mods being run at once.

Obsidian is notorious for bugs, but they're also generally pretty good about fixing them in patches.

1. Not likely. The game will likely have the same problems FO3 had. Most bugs were from game engine limitations. Same engine, same problems.

2. Crashing because of mods really has nothing to do with the devs. Its mostly due to the end user not loading it in the proper order, or a modder overlooking something important.

Edit: Damn Ninja's :toughninja:

Then Fallout New Vegas will be unstable if you choose your mod mix the same way and you don't change your installing methods.

The Developers are under no obligation to make sure the game is stable with community made mods. People who use mods are responsible for picking the right ones and installing them properly and loading them in the right order. You are not required to play the game with Mods.

Changing the load order helps a ton.

Plus making sure you have updated drivers. I know I had a ton of problems with Mass Effect and Oblivion that magically went away the minute I updated my drivers.
