Ok so I am losing my internet connection, on the 11th ish. So If I cant get the update, will I not be able to play?
And a bigger question, For xbox live do you just need a modem, or do you also need an internet connection (Provider) as well?

The patch is 99.9999% likely to be just bug fixes (after all, they wouldn't have pushed out a "gold" version of the game that didn't run at all). So, yes - you'll be able to play. But you might run into whatever bugs they fixed in the patch. Or not.

Also I heard that a quest is unfinnishable without the patch, something about not being able to talk to a guy?
