AccessingRunning Windows 7 Inside Linux

I have recently fallen in love with Linux for its great speed, high customisation ability and immunity to viruses. In particular, http://pinguyos.com/ seems very awesome! However, it will be a pain having to keep switching between operating systems if I were to dual-boot to access different files. Is there anyway to access my Windows files from inside Linux and vice versa, so that I could quickly view a document or play some music without having to restart to the other OS? Going on from that, would it possible to run my current install of Windows 7 in a virtual machine so that I could open a Windows app without having to restart? Is either of these possible?
