Accidentally killed Whiterun's Adrianne Avenicci

Just across from where Adrianne Avenicci hangs out during the day, outside the Warmaiden's weapon shop, there is a little sign for the Drunken Huntsman. I was making the sign spin around with my Chain Lightning, when a stray spark from the spell crossed the street and pretty much one-hit poor Adrianne. The guards attacked me, but I sheathed my spells and they let me off the hook because I am a friend of the Jarl. Now, though, her ex-husband Ulfberth War-Bear thinks I'm a jerk.

He's sent Hired Thugs to kill me, and he says that he should "bash my brains in" for all of the "trouble" that I've caused when I speak to him, but I'm also left thinking that he should be reacting to my presence in a more forceful manner. The guy who is hiring goons to kill me shouldn't be shooting the breeze about weapons when his dead wife's body is lying prostrate outside of his shop. Shouldn't he be attacking me on site?

Oh yeah, and Lydia's lying out there dead as well, as she was hit in the crossfire.

Reload your save, I have gotten some pretty sweet enchanted items there. Also, some battle born came up to me and said battle born or grey mane? And I replied grey mane, now he wants to bash my face in for all the trouble I've caused.. similar response, minus the thugs.

It's quite alright. First time I turned werewolf I made sure not to attack anyone in fear of killing a vendor or something. Come back in town after the change and wait 2-3 days for belethor to open his shop. Go around back to pick the lock so I can see what the hell is going on. What do I see? Belethor slumped over on his back porch dead as a door nail and I have absolutely no idea how it happened.

Seriously bummed me out as he was the one I usually ended up selling most of my stuff to.

Oh, Belethor's reopened his shop all right- hes perfectly happy to trade both goods and pleasantries with me, even though he knows that I killed his wife! Her body has been lying outside for about a week and a half.
