achery issues(not firing distance)

Post » Tue Aug 28, 2012 12:49 pm

Archery has it's problems on 360, we all know it. But the arrows maximum range, the bow sometimes glitching out and firing an arrow before i release it, or the classic 2ft distance shot where it falls at your feet even though you have fully drawn the bow, can all be overlooked by me. (not sure if all of the above are 360 specific).

The thing that bugs me most about archery, is when an enemy is standing still, has no idea I am there, and when i fire the arrow aimed dead center at his torso he is suddenly ~5-10ft from where he was standing and then proceeds to charge at me. He then does this 2-3 more times until he closes the gap and wails on my character with his axe.

That is the only archery glitch that infuriates me, is anyone else experiencing any issue like this?

Im sorry but I just don't understand your wording. Like, he teleports 10 feet away?

I've literally never experienced any of the issues that you mentioned. I find archery and the bow one of the most effective, and fun, ways to kill enemies. Not sure what's causing that in your game.

That's pretty strange. I never saw or even ever heard of that teleporting thing and I play on both Xbox and PC.

Yep. Sneak, zoom, slowed time view, aiming at the enemy's back, loose the shot, oh look, he just skated 5' to the side. Very rare, but seriously annoying. Never seems to happen with 'bandit', every time it's marauder or the like.

slides actually, but almost instantly. seems like they teleport without the steady hand perk, but while time is slowed you see them just... slide to the left or right quickly.

and yes always on higher level bandits, sometimes on regular bandits. and have had a couple bears do it too.

this one is the only archery glitch i experience on a regular basis. the others are few and far between.

Enemies of all kinds will use a dodge maneouver that is triggered by the player releasing his arrow, firebolt etc. It actually does look like the enemy has teleported 5 foot to the left or right. This can even happen when the enemy you are firing at has his back to you and is busy fighting someone else.

It's absolutely infuriating, because it's not the NPC that is doing it but the player. I think it just happens on a dice roll.

It's due to the enemy hearing the arrow as soon as it's released, you can easily reproduce it by targeting a bandit chief if your sneak skill is slow. Not exactly a bug but a very badly made feature. And OP, no, they are not 360 specific, PC is affected as well by everything you have mentioned.
