Action against Bethesda

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 8:18 pm

This game is great everyone can agree on that. We can also agree that this game is broke like a spanking new college grad. Bethesda has not made an effort to publicly address the effort and instead chooses to hide an ride this out. Currently people are looking at reviews for the ps3 version and thinking everything is peachy.

I suggest we all go to sites like amazon, best buy, gamestop, metacritic and rightfully leave negative reviews to inform future consumers that this product is crippled.

Currently on amazon there is only one negative review addressing how broken this game is on ps3. Majority of positive reviews came the first day so my guess is these people didn't get far enough to experience this crippling bug.

It's important that we change th public perception of the ps3 version so this does not go unnoticed.

Bethesda is being very cowardly by not adressing this issue and should be hurt by loss of sales especially if they do not compensate for this disaster.

Hear, hear. When I get back home later today, I will continue writing whatever I can to anyone and everyone. I might even create Facebook and Twitter accounts just for the occasion. I'll write on Amazon, I'll write on Metacritic, I'll write on Facebook, I'll write on Twitter, I'll right to major gaming journalist sites recommending the issue be covered (starting with IGN), I'll continue writing on these forums, and I've already sent my technical support complaint to Bethesda.

Oh, and since they're reading, I'm pretty sure this whole issue is a direct violation of certain standards set by the Federal Trade Commission here in the U.S.

The two biggest issues I just can't get over:

1. They released the game in this state

2. They refuse to publicly address this problem

Don't forget an important 3:

They released a broken product which doesn't function as advertised and is essentially a fraudulent, corporate scam.

My main concern is they never addressed this issue on their other titles that experienced the same problem.

Several things:

1.) It doesn't matter if we write negative reviews on sites. Bethesda is NOT going to read them and if they do then they won't really care.
2.) The game IS NOT broken for the PS3. People experiencing serious issues are in a MINORITY.
3.) Most people are going to buy the game if they want it regardless of people complaining about lag issues.
4.) Writing negative reviews about Bethesda is POINTLESS on these sites. They are supposed to be reviews about the ACTUAL game which deserves positive reviews. Issues need to be addressed by CONTACTING BETHESDA which is the MOST EFFECTIVE way of getting them to notice.

In summary, contact BETHESDA and don't waste your time not actually reviewing a game.

My review has just been posted on Amazon. I thoroughly hope people heed warnings and DO NOT purchase this game until these problems are confirmed to be 100% resolved!

Lawl wrong! Bethesda Softworks Forums> The Elder Scrolls> V - Skyrim> Skyrim Hardware and Software Issues Subforums> PlayStation 3

Also I have noticed the only people coming on here brown nosing Bethesda are the ones not having issues please this sub forum is clearly for those who are L2READ.

While I'm at it Jonathan28 you're the worst troll I have seen just go away, shouldn't you be on your playable version of Skyrim? instead of annoying those who cannot play.

Basically contact any gaming media just giving it bad reviews will help slightly but when the gaming journalist out there are informing the community about the ps3 issues, beth will be forced to act. allot of smaller gaming websites out their have already posted a article about the issue, Kotaku a big site has also posted one. IGN should be the next one to contact.

Honestly I am hoping that this game does not end up a unpatched pile of feces like FO3 was, heck Beth never acknowledged the ps3 version, and honestly that is what they are doing right now, the have acknowledged the 360 and Pc problems, but what about the ps3? Not a single mention about this game breaking issue, they sold us a broken product, plain and simple.

1. I don't expect Bethesda to read them, writing negative reviews is to stop people from buying the game. So don't know where u got that idea

2. The ps3 lag is for a majority of owners as it has been reported and verified by blogs and publications. OPM, kotaku, destructoid, digital foundry

3. Can't argue with that but I know as I consumer if I see a great proportion of reviews mention the game being broken I will not buy it. Maybe there is no hope for fanatical Bethesda lovers like u

4. Did I say go review all their games as negative? No. Just this one game becase it's crippled.

5. Last time I checked this sub forum is not for Bethesda apologists so get lost

Also, if we don't take action now we will reinforce the idea that game companies can put out broken games with no repurcussions to sales.

Capatilism 101 if you make a good product you will become richer if your make a broken product you will go out of business.

let wait and see what happens - regardless of what they should have done before releasing and regardless of the track record for PS3 with other games lets give them some time to sort it out - the proof will be in the pudding.

If a lawsuit really does happen, i'm pretty sure Bethesda will think twice before releasing a broken game to a playstation console. If they knew the game was broken, I would have gladly waited another couple of months for them to sort it out, who gives a [censored] if it comes out 11/11/11, theres no point of playing a game when its not ready.

We don't allow any petitions here and this reeks of a petition so I'm closing it.

Also just so you know, Bethesda is hardly hiding and saying nothing. We have two posts from Bethesda employees in this very section addressing this today:

Wanted to let everyone know that we are working on the next update for the game. Once we have more information on what that covers/fixes, we'll let everyone know.

If you're not already, make sure you're playing with the 1.1 update (you'll see it noted in the bottom right corner of the title screen) and the latest PS3 firmware.

We continue to monitor these boards (and elsewhere) for issues you're reporting. Be as specific as possible when reporting issues -- how many hours have you been playing, how many consecutive hours have you been playing, what level are you, how many quests have you finished, etc.

Once the title update is released, we'll let everyone know.

Thanks for your help.
I suggest assisting with specific reporting as requested to help them help us. :)
