Actually I want Hearthfire part II

Post » Wed Aug 29, 2012 9:57 pm

My first reaction To seeing the trailer for Hearthfire was upset due to it being a small dlc. My worry was Bethesda were going to try and bleed us of our pennies by churning out multiple over-priced money spinner mini dlc.

Once I calmed down a reconsidered the fact that Bethesda are probably going to stick to their word and the next dlc will be a large well priced expansion and this is just a small £3.75 / $5 dollar dlc to keep us happy while we wait, I became a lot happier.

It has also occurred to me that there were multiple posters asking for dlc like this and Bethesda have actually just answered the many requests.

My problem is that I was not one the many posters asking for a house build out in sticks but I was in the other group of many posters who were similarly asking for a dlc where you can build up one of the existing cities...

Enter Hearthfire part 2. I like the idea of being able to own real estate. What I'd like to see is a second Hearthfire where we can build real estate in a couple of the main cities as a city build up dlc. Winterhold being the obvious first choice.

Rather than moan at Hearthfire I have considered that £3.75 / $5 for a real estate dlc in one of the main cities is a actually a good price and it also turns a Presently quite depressing place like Winterhold into a place worth visiting and an additional hub for trade. Anyone else like the idea of Hearthfire part 2?

Obviously I am saying to cap it here. I still want a proper full sized and well priced expansion rather than multiple small dlc that soon adds up. A city rebuild / build up dlc is something I've seen others like myself often requesting

I really want a mod/dlc where either you can be a noble in charge of a city or be a commander in charge of a fort. Or possibly both ever since Kvatch in Oblivion.

It could work with Helgen.

Agreed. It does seem odd when I return to Helgen every now & again and find the embers still glowing. That must have been a REALLY hot fire.

Yer. I was one of the many who wanted a Kvatch rebuild dlc for Oblivion. I rather Kvatch was built up than Battlehorn Castle. Have had Kvatch castle instead.
To me it made more sense that Kvatch would be rebuilt up after the end of the Oblivion crisis. Instead it remained a smoking ruin.

Yh. I'm with u completely here. Even if not as Jarl, we can own it as real estate. Ruling it as Jarl would be best though. Like Urlfric Stormcloak was with Windhelm. Perhaps have an trusty advisor who stands in on running things when off on journeys

tell you what it should first start of witha house creation kit mostly that way thay can get it going and maby get the bugs out as you go along.
nou the jarl Idea is good in a way but do know Jarls could not go out advanture but being as a thane one should have the ablity to help out and dicuse town situwations and put in money and helpt design buildings and or extra stuf in side the town.
maby even buy like so to say helgen to rebuild it or a nieuw piece of land to be a land lord and make a village get people working in the farm village of lumber village or what ever and help the econamy grow in skyrim.
that is My Idea any ways

I've been in favor of a Helgen rebuild for a while. It just makes sense to me that the imperials at the very least would want another base of operations in southern Skyrim. Plus there have to be some Nords that want to see it rebuilt, since it was decently sized city during its time. That said, we won't get everything we ask for so for now, ill be content making my own villa finally.

Urlfric Stormcloak managed it to a lesser degree. Plus you'd have trusty advisors to assist and stand in for you.

My trouble with Helgen is it isn't the capital of a hold as it was just a town under Falkreath that the Imperials used as a garrison.

Winterhold however is supposed to be a city that is the centre and capital of a hold. it was also once the capital city of Skyrim but is now a miserable nonhappening place with less than a handful of shed like buildings. Imagine the scope for future development - stone walls, stone built casttle home over looking the Mages Guild, stables, blacksmiths, potion and herbs shop, clothing shop, dock to bring in supplies, fishing and whaling ships to providing new industry, trade and transport to the city ... Just a few ideas.

Maybe even an arena on the island next to it

I don't know, I have a hard time seeing a dlc having specifically to do with winterhold coming out. But i didn't expect us to be able to customize and built our own homes so who knows. Your proposing a lot of cool ideas, but winterhold doesn't have a lot of space. It clings to tge side of a cliff.
