Adabala Building system beta for SkyrimOblivion

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 2:05 am

I think my ongoing project worth an own topic, where I show the project's progresses for those who interested in it.

The project is basically a completely new, highly detailed Ayleid exterior system.

Main reason is that I think the ayleid architecture was the most greater idea in all ES games.
Second reason was Beth's rules about game assets between separate games.
Third reason. I tought if I need to rebuild everything, why not make it better, far better than originals.

Skyrim's lore had no anything about ayleids in that locale, I know well. This isn't about the Lore. Ayleids had a few cities in Skyrim, or not? I don't care. This is a challenge, and add a worthy addition for the new ES game.

When it'll be complete, this set can be used under Skyrim, altought it will released for Oblivion as well.

About the assets. This project's main goal is a "legal" ayleid construction system to Skyrim. Every mesh are modeled from scratch, there is no any elements from the originals, not even a single vertex. It will be released as a modder's resource, and wil be used my third mod under Oblivion.

It'll be a long run of course:)

Any suggestions, ideas, comments are welcomed.

Great idea! Since the Falmer probably shared cultural similarities with their southern cousins, I think these could be implemented as Snow Elf ruins that Bethesda did not have the time/motivation to add.

Probably there was some sort of connection between ayleids and falmer, or ayleids and dwemer, or even with nords, altough none of them are proven. As I see Skyrim's nordic ruins, they have strong influences from ayleid architecture, at least in their exteriors' systems. Let's assume that ayleids had a few cities in Skyrim which they built for some reason. A few cities built very close to Skyrim's borders, like Rielle, Sedor, Kemen for example. Another possible uses of them is to rebuild the previously existing ayleid architectures in Skyrim's unused landmass of Cyrodiil.

This concept is going to be complete, non-ruined architectures, but there is a possibility to make a ruined version of it.

Shalani: Yes, it is quite a hard work. Just making of a simple wall can consume 1-2 days to make it really perfect. Apart from this, I still have not any idea how they should be transferred to corresponding NIFs for Skyrim- This will be an another hard issue... And it probably shows that how difficult to create a whole game, even if we think about the modeling/artwork only. How many people's hard work, especially if we think about the fairly good quality of Beth's games for example. I don't envy them, but is surely a fun for them:D
If anyone is expert in this work, I welcome to join the project, or at least some tips and suggestions how to do this.

Fruit of this day.
Main Palace block's Inner circles completed. It was a frustrating trick. It is based on individual elements, thus allowing to create more complicated structures than the original 8 sided ones. Lot of interesting possibilities:)
