Add Actual Races for Fallout 5 and Beyond!

Post » Thu Mar 24, 2016 10:35 pm

I would REALLLY like it if you made it like Skyrim where you can choose to be Human or a Humanoid, or even a different type of Human!

For Fallout 5 and Beyond, I request the following races:

Human: Duh. Of course I still want this!

Super Mutant: The super mutant starts with -1 Intelligence and +1 Strength. This is unchangeable, which means Super Mutants can't have Intelligence 10. Story will change to you starting in Vault 87 or a Vault that uses FEV.

Ghoul: Ghouls start with -1 Charisma and +1 Endurance. Same as Super Mutant, it is unchangeable, and Ghouls can't have Charisma 10. Story will change so the Hero as a baby gets left in Radiation about 40 years from the game starting year.

Synth: Synths start with -1 Agility and +1 Perception. Can't Have Agility 10. Starts in the Institute Labs, where he then escapes with the Railroad, eventually going to the place the story starts in.

Assaultron (Mk II) : Starts with -1 Luck and +1 Agility. Can't Have Luck 10. Starts in a random tinker's workshop, where he fashions the Assaultron to be able to utilize guns and wear select armor. He/She escapes when the tinker is killed by Raiders.

Racial Talents:

Human: Swift Learner: +10% XP Bonus

Super Mutant: Tough: +10 Damage, Energy, and Poison Resistance and +50 Radiation Resistance

Ghoul: Creature of Radiation: You regenerate faster depending on your Radiation (x2 per 200 Rads)

Synth: Targeting Protocols: VATS Accuracy is 10% Better, and time slows 2X Better when it is activated.

Assaultron Mk II: Laser Eye: Can utilize a 100 Damage Eye Laser once per day. Modified by Gunslinger Perk.

Please Consider. Thank you!!

Personally I think this would take up way too much dev time, the world of FO feels a lot more segregated than TES and as such would require NPCs to behave differently (in a much greater way) for each race.

Imagine they had multiple races in FO4; Ghouls and Super Mutants wouldn't be allowed anywhere near DC so a whole new way of approaching the main questline would be needed.

If it can be done, and more importantly done right to really make each race feel distinguished it would be a great feature indeed. Would definately up the replayability in a game that is already insanely replayable.

I don't think you understand what you're asking for. 99% of the game would shot you on site if you was a Super Mutant, Ghoul, Assaulron, or synth. It would be like vampires in Skyrim all over again with everyone complaining the can't trade because NPCs refuse to talk to them or attack them.

Either that or everyone would have to be A OK with Super Mutants, Ghouls, Synths, and Assaultrons walking around town.

Not going to work. Even the TES series, which is Bethesdas baby, does a very meh job with NPCs reactions to different races. Bear in mind that near every dialogue option would need alternative versions. If you do zero alternate versions then no one reacts to your race, which means it's either a utopian society or just a very poor implementation. If you do some alternate versions it means the guy who snarled at you and called a milksop, or a S'wit or a n'wah or whatever, in one sentence through clenched teeth...in his next sentence he's back to friendly old Grognak.

ES has races characters are born into and those races have their own homelands and customs and religions. In Fallout your a human, a mutant, or a construct. Essentially either human or the creation of a human.

Okay, not going to work. But, I would like to see something new. I've been spoiled by Skyrim. How about a Human/Zetan hybrid like they have in X-Com? A Human/Cat hybrid like in the "Beauty and the Beast" TV show? (You youngsters will have to look it up). A lost race of some kind.

Relax.. Fallout 5 is still long way to reach at very least 2022 maybe beyond that. Don't think of it too much.

Please let's not start arguing about Aliens again. :stare:

Anyway I would like to be able to play a ghoul character. I was thinking Charisma fixed at 1, obviously radiation heals rather than harms, possibly endurance bonus and agility penalty.

I don't think it would be that hard to implement, considering the status ghouls had in New Vegas. They were pretty accepted there.
