Adding a journal?

Post » Sun May 20, 2012 10:50 am

I was wondering if it was possible to add a journal that'd replace the quest log in Skyrim, much like the journal from Morrowind. I'd love to read back what I did.
Skyrim has a few small texts like these in the quest log, but I liked the idea of an actual journal. The journal in Morrowind was also a bit more elaborate.
I'd be willing to write text, but my coding abilities are non-existant :)

I haven't played Oblivion, but that one used quest markers too right?
I admit I raged a few times when I lost some quest giver in Morrowind, but I still loved reading the character's thoughts on people too.

I friggin miss journals. Not just immersion, but practical too. I hate how ported games have ditched this feature. Doesn't even have to be scripted...even a blank page where I can write notes on quests in-game would be helpful.

I agree. I miss the journal from Morrowind. Oblivion's might have been simplified, but at least it was THERE.

I second this. Immersion was great, although it was not as good as morrowind. how can we workaround it?

Is there anyway modders can make a mod that can see what quest people have completed, or what dialogue they've picked?
Maybe add in a menu under 'items' called 'Journal', which is the same as a readable book that'd be updated with text everytime they finish a certain dialogue/quest part.

Apparantly it's 'easy' to check whether or not a quest is finished.
Maybe it'd be nice as an item without weight, that can't be dropped?
