Adobe Switches to Creative Cloud

Post » Thu May 09, 2013 12:40 pm

So, what are your thoughts about adobe switching to a subscription only availability for its program where you have to pay a monthly fee to access things vs straight up buying the program?

I'm not too thrilled with it myself. With something like After Effects, Photoshop, Illustraitor, etc..., I rather just pay for the darned thing vs piecing it out. Found myself dang tempted to buy After Effects, flash, or both, and avoid the ensuing problem of the monthly subscription, but it seems like things have already switched. I hope to get those two programs if I can shop around, but I think it maybe too late.

Well, that's really lame. Looks like my digital art is going to get expensive to produce :/

This is just great that this is happening right when I'm searching for a nice tablet.

Nope nope nope. Keeping my old software, works just fine. The idea of suddenly losing your livelyhood (or even a hobby) because you missed a payment doesn't sit right with me.

I just love watching the PC industry return to the days of "Dumb Terminals" where just EVERYTHING was "Off Site" and almost impossible to get to during any kind of emergency, of course back then we called it "The Void" or "The Ether" instead of the "Cloud" which was also a "Coined Term" but I guess IF you call it something "NEW" and copyright it you can charge twice as much for it...

NS~

Won't bother me, I still use Photoshop 5.0, that I bought and paid for over 10 years ago. Nothing that Photoshop has offered on any of their new versions has had anything that I need, or most people would need, to make me want them. This for sure will stop me from using any of their new programs.

Besides, there is always GIMP.

GIMP has 0 upfront cost and 0 monthly fees.

So I don't really mind.

I foresee an increase in piracy regarding Adobe products.

I still use CS3 master race Photoshop.
