Advice for a character with no form of healing

Post » Sun Feb 17, 2013 12:45 pm

I've recently started an Orc character that will not be using any form of restoration or alchemy. I may or may not go further than that and limit myself from using any healing potions that I happen to find in chests and whatnot as well, although I haven't decided yet.

I'm playing on Master difficulty, and the skills I'll be using are in my signature, the character is Ukonvasara, the Orc, of course.

Does anybody have any experience playing a character without any healing capability? If so, I'd love to hear how that went for you guys. I don't plan on using any followers or any conjuration, so this will be a very interesting playthrough. I'll probably end up using Sword & Board more often and save Two-Handed for situations that call for me being very aggressive.

mages or archers can get away without any healing on master, but 1h or 2h warriors both need it imo. The downtime just gets too boring for a warrior without any.

I can't see how one can make it without healing. The best I can give is to invest in Magic Resistance from Alteration.

Yeah, this is what I was thinking based off of my own experiences, but I feel like there might be some ways to get around that downtime, besides adding in certain magic schools. Perhaps I'm trying to challenge myself a bit too much, though.

If you're ok with enchanted gear, try buying (if you don't intend to enchant it yourself) items which increase your health or health regeneration rate. You may also want to pick the Lady stone - it speeds up health and stamina regeneration by 25%.

You might want to invest in enchanting for the Fortify Health Regen and magic resistance effects.
Get the Become Ethernal shout early on, it really helps to stay alive.
And get the Lady Stone, it raises your Health and Starmina regenation rate, which is almost necessary if you don't want to use potions.
