Im not really looking for poisons mainly potions as I'm sick of the restoration school regardless of its benefits lol.

The only recipe I know without looking anything up is. Cyrodiilic Spadetail or Abcaen(sp?) Longfin + Salt Pile = Restoration Potion. And the only reason I know that is that I did the Restoration Potion glitch.

Just pick every ingredient you find and save them. The more ingredients you have the more potions you can make.

That tells you a lot more.

Experience gained is proportional to value. The most valuable effects are regenerate (health, stamina and magicka) and invisibility, and for poisons slow and paralysis. For usefulness rather than value if you don't want to use Restoration, blue mountain flower and wheat are everywhere and give restore and fortify health, salt garlic and juniper berries give regenerate health and magicka.

fortify health was one of my first potion, one of the most useful aswell.
You can easily find Purple/blue/red mountain flowers around skyrim's tundra, those flowers restore stamina/health/magicka, respectively.
So those should be your main ingredients at the start of the game.

Mix blue flowers with some weath found in the farms around most cities and red flower with some creep clusters found in the volcanic grounds south of Windhelm.
Worked like a charm for me

LOL Be careful with that. You might end up recruited for the Nord space program.

Vendors also sell giant's toe which will still give you a good return on your investment. Arcadia sells them, I think she respawns every couple days. You can occasionally steal them from court wizards (like Wuunferth in Windhelm) or alchemy shops.

I use Blue Butterfly Wing + Blue Mountain Flower + Wheat all of them are easy to find and there are tons of em. Go see Lami in Morthal as well. A lot of people only use a few of the perks but they are all quite useful if you plan on going full alchemist and using potions/poisons in combat.
