What do you think of my warrior role play char ive made, is the lore ok? are there any tips or extra rules you think i might like? is it a good back story? made it myself, will change if someone thinks of a more lore friendly one.

Name: Marcus Ameilius Lepidus

Class: Warrior

Race: Imperial

Main skills: One handed, heavy armour, block

Lesser skills: Archery, alchemy, smithing

Brief overview: Legion sworn imperial war general

Bio/back story: Marcus’s grandfather sent his pregnant wife, his younger brother Ameilius and his wife’s sisters to Skyrim to escape the Oblivion crysis while he stayed and fought against the Daedra invasion to banish Mehrunes Dagon from Cyrodiil. Upon crossing the border into Skyrim Marcus’s father Maximus was born and people thought to be stormcloak assassins, killed the family during the night at a stop off point, except Maximus and Ameilius who held them off long enough to escape. They were thought to have been attacked for their race.

Ameilius brought up Maximus the best he could and sought help from the legion in which they agreed to train Maximus from a young age and went on to become an honoured member of the Imperial Army and was called to Cyrodiil with a group of the legions finest men to fight in the Great War. Before Ameilius died he explained to Maximus his heritage and how his mother was killed merciless by Stormcloaks. Maximus returns to Skyrim two years later, married and had a son called Marcus. Maximus explained to Marcus how he came to be and trained him in the art of war. Many years later in the Third Century, Marcus joined the legion and Maximus, now 2nd general of the Imperial legion, was sent in aid of the worrying unrest of the Stormcloak rebellion and was killed in Solitude by Ulfric’s men upon Ulfric’s escape.

Marcus later hears of his fathers death and from that point on has sworn to carry on his fathers and the legions valiant efforts to repel the Stormcloak uprising and eradicate the Thalmor which he thinks are a threat to the empire due to their relations with the Aldmeri Dominion. Marcus seeks to rise in the ranks of the legion like his father and his father and to bring the power back to the legion and the empire. Before Maximus’s death, he was going to tell Marcus something when he came back from his assignment, but was killed before he could tell him what was so important. Marcus later discovered he is the Dragonborn and realised his father must of known all along. He has now accepted his fate and will use it to aid in his quest to stop the rebellion.

Likes: The imperial legion, a good book, killing stormcloaks, relating with the people/civilians of skyrim, a nice bottle of ale at his local pub, looking out for friends

Dislikes: The stormcloaks, elf’s (doesn’t trust them), betrayal

Char rules:

Spend time with the people of skyrim, talk to them, ask their opinions on the war

Can craft but no magic at all

No thievery, murders

No lockpicking

General rules:

No fast travel except carriage

Sleep, eat regulary

No more than 2 sets of clothing/armour

No more than 3 weapons

Not tonnes of food carried around, etc

Thanks for any replies people

4 skill tree's will limit how far/fast you can lvl up, I would pick one or two more. As your going 1h no magic, block would be one good skill. Smithing?, would also be good. and make six skill's to lvl.

No lock-picking is going to limit some loot takeing, but isn't really to bad of a thing.

Other than that I can't think of much else. Good backstory, have fun!

Thanks forgot about those! added  i thought no lockpicking would make the game more interesting, and anyway i cant see my character bothering with lockpicks, he'll probably be more likely to smash it open. But he probably wont crawl much through dungeons anyway.

From a strictly lore standpoint maybe put another generation between marcus and the grandfather to accommodate the time between the obc and skyrim, or have them fleeing from the great war as that was much closer, other then that i've got nothing good backstory :goodjob:

yeah that was my only complication really, the time in between the obc and the rebellion, i think its just about feasible with the time, havent worked out their ages exactly but i'll think i'll leave it as is. If i started the family line from The great war, it only really gave me about 30 years to play with which isnt enough for nearly two generations and there arent many major war events in between the obc and the great war. But i think it'll do for my first proper skyrim role play  thanks for the suggestions though, i think the backstory fits my char quite well showing the ancestral relation to war and rebellions etc. Im no expert on lore and had to update myself but i think overall its feasible.

Im no storywriter either as you can probably tell :)

All good aside from the time involved with the oblivion crises i saw no issues in it at all, well put together

To get my char more into the mood, does anyone know how to delete spells from my char? via the console maybe? and to rid my character of evil im going to throw that daedric mace you got in markath off a mountain  Not even going to sell it. As i did start a general char but havent progressed with him much and want to fully convert him into the above.

The Stormcloak Rebellion didn't exist during the Oblivion Crisis...

Nice but it has been 200 years since the Oblivion crisis. My own grandfather is only like 80 years old and I'm 18. So your character has around 100 years to fill. More like his great-great, or maybe even great-great-great grandfather?

EDIT: Fleeing the Great War would be way better, it would enhance the military backround and it is much more likely for his grandfather to have participated.
