advlt Forum

For a group of fans of this game, there sure is a lot of complaints...I can see the points being presented, and this is not meant to be any type of rant but....I love the game and ignore the flaws. sure, it reminds me im playing a game from time to time, but how much more interesting would this forum be if everyone was telling stories, sharing tips and the like without all of the complaints? I have to sift through these posts here so i dont read to much garbage and notice any other faults others have pointed out!

cant wait to get home and explore...

If you think this is bad, you should have seen the Morrowind and Oblivion forums right after those games came out. I've been pleasantly surprised at how relatively advlt the debates have been so far.

So you want a forum to discuss hints and stories about the game?

It's a great game, that's why. Not all advlt - I saw someone suggesting Beth should be sued because their PS3 was lagging and the game was unplayable.

Don't get me wrong, I'm annoyed about it too, but I think that's a little far...

that link is for cheats and hints??

I just think everyone bought the game to enjoy it - the forums are a great tool to make this game even more enjoyable! i love the different perspectives, opinions and ideas people give.

Some kids seem to actually not be enjoying this game because of issues that they allow themselves to be bothered by.

wolfenstein on a floppy disc had terrible graphics
played that sh!t forever!

still played fallout 3 up until last week...skyrim looks better than that. what a great game.

I dont really have a point. 'sayin

It was the same when Fallout New Vegas came out, you get the little kids coming on crying about it's not everything that they expected.

i wanted to love new vegas..i was the biggest really devoted fan of fallout 3 ever, the atmosphere and world just captured me..NV just seemed like an add on with less interesting settlements and different (freakin ridiculous) extreme factions that didn't interest me for a second. I think i still put in a good 30 hours..but just..no

I've seen all this before. The forum typically go through stages:

Game announced: rampant speculation and excitement for what the game will be, when the first details will be announced, etc.
After the first few details/trailer announced: more excitement, people telling what they love or hate about what they've seen
The lull before the release: TONS of suggestions and a bit of discussion about what's known, lots of excitement when new details are released
After the release: Lots of questions, LOTS of complainers. This does not typically mean the game is bad, it's just the people that are enjoying the game (like me) are too busy playing it to complain. I noticed some complaints are because people don't understand some element of the game.
A while after the release: the complaints go away as people figure things out and bugs are squished. It becomes more general discussion and helping new players.

Moral of the story: wait a while, it'll get better.

You also should consider that the players who started with earlier TES, are getting older, too. That can impact the atmosphere.

I've also noticed that the Zombie Fan-b-o-y Elite [ZFE] pushes back fast and hard about people's complaints with almost flame like aggression. This seems to be supported by the policy makers, so that makes a difference as well.

We'll see how things go moving forward, but if the devs started addressing legitimate concerns or maybe gave us updates on thoughts around their campfire, you would probably see less assertive posts. You will never get rid of griefers, but there are ways to promote a better environment.
