- So far, the graphics do look much improved. Stone in general has more detail. There does seem to be a bit of a 'tighter' look to everything. Reflective surfaces actually look shiny now instead of blurry blobs. Some clothing items like metal armor look sharper and more detailed, but cloth garments still look blurred and low-res. I still get blurred low res textures on some surfaces, but the placement seems random and less pervasive. It's still much improved though!
- I installed to the HDD and have the same results as above, except load times actually seem a lot longer than when I was playing from disc, prior to the update. If this is due to the improved textures needing to be loaded now, I'm OK with that - better than looking terrible. If they fix load times in future patches that would be great.
- Projectiles are no longer staying stuck in me. It looks like they don't stick in me at all, actually. I find arrows in my inventory and on the ground after a fight, but not stuck in me graphically.
- Shadows seem spastic and blobby still, maybe a little less stable.
- There definitely seems to be more frequent minor screen glitches like flashes, pop-ins, jittery NPCs and bad collision detection.
- The patch didn't fix any of my broken quests or remove items stuck in my inventory.
- Fighting feels very different, like my weapons and spells are a lot weaker/stronger during fights - must be the 'resistance bug' everyone is mentioning. Not bad, just really different after playing for so many hours.
I'm sorry to everyone who is experiencing less improved/ worsened results. I've been thinking of the game as an advance copy still in Beta...at least I can play it while I'm waiting for them to finish it.
Thanks Bethesda team! Keep at it!
